This is my first Lush product called Ocean Salt. They are available in two sizes 4.2 and the 8.8 Oz tubs. I have the 4.2 Oz tub and the total came out to be $23 here in the States.
In case you're not familiar with the company Lush, they make their products out of fresh and organic ingredients. So right away I was interested because I have really sensitive skin.
Onto the review! I absolutely love this product. I've been using this for about two weeks now and I noticed some great changes in my skin. First of all, three days is enough for time for me to decide if the product was a hit or a miss. Right off the bat, on the first day I told my best friend that this is definitely my holy grail.
Here are the ingredients:
Fine Sea Salt , Hand Harvested Sea Salt , Fresh Grapefruit Infusion , Organic Silken Tofu , Glycerine , Japan Wax , Sodium Cocoamphoacetate , Fresh Organic Lime Extracted in Vodka , Mango Butter , Extra Virgin Coconut Oil , Avocado Butter , Lime Oil , Seaweed Absolute , Violet Leaf Absolute , *Limonene , Linalool , Fragrance , Blue 1
hm. okay. Looks good until we get to the "Limonene , Linalool , Fragrance , Blue 1 " part.
Limonene: Scent ingredient and solvent naturally in the rind of citrus fruit
Blue 1: water-soluble artificial blue dye
Yeah, I don't really like added unnatural fragrances and dye in my product. I knew that the product would have some sort of dye because of the unnatural blue coloring, but I just said "Yolo" and decided to try it out.
The recommended amount of use is 2-3 times a week. I use it every day, once a day. Remember to not use this in the shower or your product will get watery and spoiled. I use a spatula for hygienic purposes and also to keep from getting any water into it.
I had some rash like rough patches on the side my temples and on the second day it was gone. My skin was left smooth and clean feeling. No exaggeration. I felt so clean and within a week my acne was clearing and left over scars from previous acne was fading. Usually my skin gets very dry and patchy after using a scrub or cleanser, but this one made me feel very refreshed. When I touched my skin it felt like there was water retained in my skin.
The smell was heavenly it smells like literally a Margarita! Now the feeling .. If you would scroll down and look at the pictures you can see the size of the salts.
The size of the salts are pretty big and chunky , but there are also tiny grains of salts mixed in there too. I use this as a facial scrub mostly and I tried to use medium pressure when I'm using this. It can be very coarse and harsh for users who aren't use to the size and texture. Now, when you first buy it , it will look like it does in the photo, but! Remember to mix it up then you can use it. I love the little sticker on the back telling you who made it, it's so cute!
Mixing Time! |
Overall I am in love with this product and there are no cons for me currently! I'll update this post again in about a month to tell you guys if anything changed.
Bye, my dumplings ♥
UPDATE: Turns out this product was not good for my face or body. It worked for a few days and started to increase my pore size and irritate my skin. I used it as a body scrub and it was proficient, but it left a little film on my skin after I used it. I ended up breaking out and skin is now uneven -_- I wanted this to work, but sadly it didn't. If you guys have any scrubs you'd like me to try, just message me!
